About
this Site
The
Burning Cross website is a response to
the "Borrowing
Theory" in which
European scholars and Christian missionaries
in India have for centuries propagated
the idea that the worship of Lord Krishna
[Vaishnavism] was borrowed from Christianity.
This theory was adamantly propagated starting
in the later part of the18th century until
the theory was finally undone when the
weight of evidence against it became too
strong. This evidence was the discovery
of the ancient Greek manuscripts of Megasthenes
and the archaeological finds of the Heliodorus
pillar, Mora Well inscription and other
such artifacts in India at the beginning
of the 20th century, all of which fell
in favor of the worship of Lord Krishna
predating Christianity by at least several
centuries.
The
findings surrounding this period of historical
research are scarcely known amongst the
lay Christian or Hindu faithful. Although
this is a defeated theory, some scholars
and almost all Christian missionaries in
India continue with the idea of the Borrowing
Theory. In our present time the Christian
ministries in India still insist on a Christian
superiority over all religious thought
and frequently allude to the worship of
Lord Krishna as being an impious borrowing
from Christianity.
Until
the present, this Christian deception has
basically gone unchallenged. The Burning
Cross team of writers and researchers are
therefore reopening the file of the Borrowing
Theory and will show that the accuser is
in fact the borrower - Christianity has
borrowed all its theology from other much
older religious traditions. This has been
done to such an extent that it can hardly
be said that Christianity has anything
original in the field of theology save
and except the dogma of the 'one and only
Savior.'
In
previous decades and centuries a thorough
look into history to understand the origins
of culture and philosophical thought required
that one spend significant time searching
the great libraries of the world, many
of which contain the writings and opinions
of the ancients. This was a luxury that
even some of the greatest researchers and
scholars of the past did not enjoy. However,
with the advent of the internet and the
vast number of websites offering thorough
and complete research findings and accumulated
data of centuries of hard work, a more
accurate and revealing view of history
is at our fingertips.
Archaeology
has also been a slow but yielding science
in the search for a better understanding
of the great past of the human race. Recent
archaeological findings in India and Pakistan
are revealing that the Indus civilization
and the Sanskrit Vedic literature written
in that time period are the basis and origin
of all philosophical and religious thought
in the world.
