US Senate opens with Hindu prayers [
July 13, 2007]
History was created in the United States Senate at 9.30 am on Thursday, when Rajan Zed, the Hindu chaplain of the Indian Association of Northern Nevada, opened the Senate with a Hindu prayer. According to the US Senate web site, 'Throughout the years, the United States Senate has honored the historic separation on Church and State, but not the separation of God and State.
Jesus Is Back And He’s Puerto Rican
After a long siesta, Jesus is back and worse better than ever. Where’s he been for the last several hundred years? That is unknown, but what is known is fascinating. Jesus is now 60, a former heroin addict that did time in the big house, and on his second wife. His name is now Jose Luis de Jesus Miranda or simply Jesus Christ Man and he lives in South Florida.
His message has changed since the old days, but nonetheless it is very appealing. Jesus is now preaching a message of "freedom to indulge" because there is no sin, no devil and no hell to pay! Woohoo!! He said the devil was killed 2000 years ago, so we’re in the clear. The message is clear, make lots of money and indulge in all things material. In the words of Jesus himself…
"I don’t have one Rolex, I have 3 because they want to give it to me. It’s like that woman that came to Jesus with the expensive perfume and put it on his feet. He didn’t reject it, so when someone gives me a watch or a gift, I receive it. I like them too, they’re nice."
It’s no wonder that Jesus has amassed a large following. From his home base in Doral Florida, Jesus commands a small army at his Growing in Grace Ministry which he also calls “God’s Government On Earth. Jesus reaches out through his 350 centers worldwide and via cable/satellite television.
Think it’s a joke? Think again. This has Jonestown written all over it if you ask me. Feel free to stop by one of their centers, but please… don’t drink the kool-aid.
Defending Vaishnavism on TV
A chief christian priest had been fighting the devotees and is trying to get Vaishnavism prohibited in the Ukraine. The local devotees requested Srila B.B. Bodhayan Maharaja, the secretary of the WVA and the disciple of the first president of WVA, Srila B.P. Puri Maharaja, to defend their cause on Ukrainian TV.
The debate was set to be for one hour but after only after 20 minutes the priest was defeated by Pujyapad B.B. Bodhayan Maharaja. The priest presented impersonal ideas when he said that the human being is God. On the following day the director of the same television station allowed Maharaj to speak for an hour exclusively about Vaishnava-tattva. Since then the intellectual people of Ukraine are giving more support and protection to the Vaishnava missions. Our Pujyapad B.B. Bodhayan Maharaja opened a philosophical club in Odessa and many people are now becoming devotees under his guidance.
Once again the World Vaishnava Association came as a helping hand to stop the discrimination against the mission of Sriman Mahaprabhu.
Billy Graham: War Criminal!
There’s a piquant contrast in the press
coverage of Billy Graham’s
conversations with Nixon, as displayed
on the tapes gradually released from
the National Archive or disclosed from
Nixon’s papers. Back in April l989, a
Graham memo to Nixon was made public. It
was dated April 15, 1969, and was
drafted after the evangelist met in Bangkok
with missionaries from Vietnam.
These men of God said that if peace talks
in Paris were to fail, Nixon
should step up the war and bomb the dikes,
which, Graham wrote, "could
overnight destroy the economy of North
Vietnam."

saves an infant from a
burning car in a rural area. The parents
are dead. We would call him a hero. But then
he decides to keep the child and raise
her in his god's way. The
man does not inform the authorities. When
the desperate child's relatives

his door, he denies any knowledge of
the child's whereabouts. The man's initial
good deed has become a crime. He
is a kidnapper.

India has summoned the Vatican envoy in
Delhi in protest over comments by the Pope
in which he condemned attempts to ban religious
conversions. India's junior Foreign Minister,
Anand Sharma, told parliament on Tuesday
that the envoy was told in "no uncertain
terms" of India's disapproval.

Swamijis
denied entry at Tirumala Temple
A two day Dharma Sammelan held at Tirupathi
on March 3 and 4, 2006, concluded with
a massive public rally in which thousands
of people from various parts of the state
and from outside participated. After the
Conclusion of the Program, All Swamijis
made their way for the Darshan of Lord
Balaji on the famous Tirumala Hills, but
too everyone's surprise the Swamijis were
denied entry into the Temple by executive
Thomas Varghese, a close associate of the
Christian Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister.
This was to remind the Hindus that their
temples are no more under the control of
Hindus. Varghese had instructed the police
Department to lathicharge all those Sadhus
and Saints who were found wandering anywhere
around the temple. The Swamijis retalliated
by sitting in Dharna right opposite the
main entrance of the temple. The 6 hour
long protest by Swamijis was gaining momentum
as the General public supported their demand.
The Perplexed TTD Officials with limited
options had to take a quick decision to
avoid any backlash from the public who
were losing their patience from time to
time. And finally with indoor consultations
the Swamijis were let inside the sanctm
to have the Darshan of the Lord.
BJP
condemns Christian preaching at Tirumala
The Andhra Pradesh unit of the Bharatiya
Janata Party (BJP) on Monday condemned
the alleged preaching by Christian missionaries
at Tirumala. They claimed the government
ignored BJP's complaints that the missionaries
were trying to build a church at Tirumala,
a Hindu holy place. Because the states
Chief Minister is a fanatical christian,
conversions have been getting help from
the government.

while talking to The Pioneer said that
the activists of Dharma Jagran Manch had
complained to the police that some Hindus
were being converted into Christianity
at a house in Janki Nagar. This article

Christian Conversions and Terrorism in
